I’ll be honest: I wasn't a honey enthusiast. I was used to the over-processed, flat syrups you find in the supermarket. But one taste of this golden harvest changed everything. I quickly realized the difference between factory syrups and pure unpasteurized honey. It wasn't just sweet; it was alive. That single moment sparked a mission to share this single-origin wild honey with the world and protect the wilderness it comes from.
My connection to the Yucatán has always run deep. It’s my homeland, a place where ancient Maya heritage is woven into wild, untamed biodiversity. Discovering a product so profoundly tied to the history and soul of this region felt serendipitous. I didn't just want to start a business. I wanted to build a sanctuary that celebrates and preserves this exact habitat.
Embarking on this venture meant diving back into my family roots. With relatives working as apicultores (beekeepers) in Mérida, the foundation was there. But to do this right, we needed more than just tradition. We needed to cut out the middlemen entirely so you can buy raw honey direct from the beekeeper. We built a system that bypasses giant factories, ensuring our focus remains exactly where it should be on managing small batch raw honey, not massive industrial volumes.
What truly sets our harvest apart is its origin. Our hives are nestled deep within a state-protected reserve, guaranteeing a completely pesticide-free raw honey. Here, the native flora of the selva yields an ethically sourced rainforest honey with bold flavors that tell the story of the region's biodiversity. As new infrastructural developments threaten these natural spaces, our ambition has grown. We aim to safeguard as much of this biocultural reserve as possible. Our vision extends far beyond honey. We are building symbiotic relationships between nature and agriculture, uplifting local communities, and contributing to the nutrition of local children.
